I started the week with a massive seasonal change at would be my very last week at my regular job as a visual merchandiser with a national homewares and linen company. For more than 7 years I visited over 30 stores from Cairns to Sydney, completed over 60 seasonal changes, worked with a team of merchandisers and 100’s of sales staff which soon became my friends. This week was the end of that chapter and the beginnings of an exciting challenge.
The rest of the week, didn’t shy away. Actually it was the opposite. I had mood boards to finish preparing for a design meeting in North Queensland. “Here’s some that I prepared earlier.”
While rummaging around my house this week I was surprised to find an old artwork from 2009. I’ve fallen in love with it all over again. From this little discovery, ideas have started to pop into my head. I’m looking forward to having more time to focus on creativity this year.
I flew to Townsville to present my ideas and decide from a selection of 3 sets of mood boards that we felt best suited to this project. We’re all on the same page with the design, it’s going to be an exciting project!
So after that we all went and played a round of golf… Hardly! We finished the day with an on site meeting on the plot, soon to be coolest place in town
For 2 years I’ve lived in this area and never known about this place! Colmslie Reserve Park is located near Raptis fish market. This is a small portion of the grounds. Kids run around while the parent enjoy looking at the oversize trees and spot the odd plane flying over. Arvi had a blast while we enjoyed the views.
Matt is such an awesome Dad. Although he really tires himself out as much as Arvi does at times! Look at these two taking a short nap on the deck after returning from the park. Both of them, pooped!
Hope you had a great week!
