The home purge is better than a body detox! Don’t get bogged down with hanging onto the past. Get into that wardrobe and clear out the stuff that is ‘the old you’ to make room for the ‘new you.’
Shop alone. Leave kids and husbands at home, carry your own bags, take as long as you need and listen to yourself. Meet friends for lunch but don’t let them push you to spend. Otherwise you’ll be a mash-up of what everyone else thinks.
Forget working from home when you’ve got a special little someone wanting some of your time. Because soon enough they’ll grow up and can’t wait to get out there on their own. Turn off your computer. Put down your phone (bejewelled can wait) The work can wait. But your kids don’t, they just keep growing.
Summer is for the living! Get out from the air conditioning and away from the Playstation! Bask in the heat. Go jump in a pool or the beach with your kids over the summer holidays. Make some memories so that you can look back and say “remember that time when…” rather than remember that video game we played instead of leading an active childhood!
You don’t have to be Australian to celebrate Australia Day. You just have to be thankful that you have an esky to drag to a party where you can enjoy each others company!
How was your month? Learn anything new or maybe you’ve not looked back at what you’ve learnt before? If you’re not happy with last month, there’s a new one coming if you want to change the outcome.
I’m looking forward to my February!
