You’d assume this is the title of the next Hugh Grant movie but in reality its been a crazy month for everyone I know! I don’t recall having spring fever hit so hard before!
Wedding in Warwick and good all-round family reunion. My family tend to get up to plenty of wild shenanigans when we all get together. All I can disclose is there was a “Steve Irwin” like wig and the Eagle Rock involved… for starters. While you ponder that thought Check out Rhianna’s Dress! Amazing
School Fete and Hens and a fleeting trip to Coloundra. I’m not a mum that is heavily involved with my childs school, but I did happen to have the availability to run a stall for a short while at the school fete. After volunteering myself months before the big event, I then planned my friends Hens (secret) party, where else but my place of course.
Lets start with the fete. Now I know this may sound boooooooorrrriiiinnnnnng, and as I expected there was sugared up kids racing around in the sun, trying to spend their pocket money as quickly as possible. My Stall however the Ping Pong Pringles game was pretty dull looking and seemingly impossible to win anything. Due to the wind, the ping pong balls weren’t bouncing into the tubes and no one was winning. (each kid won a chocolate frog for participation though… but this just wans’t enough!) Thankfully I was paired with another mum who knew how to spruik, where as I was more of an opportunist; pushed the pingle chips tubes together and was offering free “practice shots.” Before too long kids were winning whole family size blocks of chocolate and I had the biggest line up at the fete for my stall! Word spread fast! Pocket money was being thrown at us and ping pong balls were flying! within an hour we’d begin to clear out the prizes and make some money! As the loud speaker announced about the next performance the kids scurried over to take their place for the maypole dancing…. Talk about tangle city! Oops! my shift is over! Time to set up for the Hens Party!
SSSSSsssssshhhhhh! Its a secret Hens Party! How and why have a secret hens party? Well, my good friend Claudi has been trying to organise a secret wedding (I’ll get into that later in this post) So we thought we could push the envelope more by having a few friends over and ask them all to pay $25 each which would include alcoholic punch and catering… little did they know it also included a hunky topless barman to serve our drinks! The theory to this was that Claudi wanted to catch up with some of her closest friends before attending her “party” (aka wedding) that was planned for a couple of weeks later. We drank, ate and partied up a storm. Turning my dining room into a dance floor, meanwhile my friendly neighbour zipped next door to clear out her liquor cabinet and bought back tequila, cointreau, and vodka for shots. (that when we should have stopped 😉 Accessories:http://www.peterlang.com.au Wine: http://www.brownbrothers.com.au/wines/brown-brothers/prosecco-nv
All the while My husband and the kids were on a weekender with my inlaws and waiting my arrival on Sunday. I dragged myself out of bed showered, ate and made sure I had sobered up before racing to the sunny coast to join in their family fun! http://www.oakshotelsresorts.com/oaks-oasis/

For Matt’s birthday we had invited both of our parents along to Aria for Dinner. Not wanting anyone to be concerned with transport in and out on a night like river fire, we organised a Limo for transfers. It was THE best decision we made. It really made the night seem so magical! we sipped champagne and relaxed the whole way in and avoided those nasty 2 hour cab lines.
Aria was its usual impeccable self. With a set menu at $145 a head included choices of 4 entrees, mains and deserts, with a little box of macarons to top it off! MAGICAL!
My “best friends wedding.” Weddings ARE painful! theres no doubt about it. I truly believe that weddings are about appeasing your guests and propping yourselves in front of the world on a stage and publicly devoting yourself to your partner. If it wasn’t intended to be about the big “stage show” of the formalities, we’d all be heading to the registrar and having a BYO party. So for all you couples who are about to tie the know, you’ll soon realise weddings are about pleasing everyone else. To all those who’ve been to the registry. Good on you.
With this in mind. My friend tells me she’s having a 40th Birthday/engagement party and needs my help styling it. After I graciously accept to style and take on the role of MC she discloses to me that they intend to get married during the “party”
I LOVE IT! We start planning immediately and track down a Photographer, Celebrant, Venue find a dress, flowers and decide on a theme etc. A couple of months went by and we got to the nitty gritty of micro organising to enable the secret to be kept. Before too long I was embroiled in a massive continual lie trap with my closest friends. I felt ill about it the whole time and couldn’t wait for it all to happen to I could be myself again and reminisce on those times they suspected a marriage and not to mention the reveal about the secret hens party
The unknowing groomsmen stepped in line and took on their roles with honour while the girls went into shock, tears and then happiness. The ceremony and reception was held at the Burleigh Surf Life Saving Club with the Amazing and very calm Tina. http://www.burleighslsc.com.au/weddings-functions

2 weddings down. 1 to go! Another beautiful couple getting hitched. This time the scene was set in Mount Tambourine with Green and Bloom Events styling the reception hall. There’s some cute shots on instagram tagged under “ryanandskyleewedding and “pointingwedding” but here’s a sneak peak:
Its all the little things that made this day special, from the place settings and Photo Booth to the tailored menu and finally the hessian chair bows that Ryan’s mum made by hand (despite her allergies) http://www.cedarcreekestate.com.au/weddings.html
